Crime Club Radio ShowThe Crime Club was a crime fiction series that aired on the Mutual Broadcasting System from December 2, 1946 until October 16, 1947.

Each episode was introduced by the Crime Club host called “The Librarian” played by Barry Thomson. The series features murder and mystery dramas. Each episode usually begins in the same fashion – The telephone rings and the Librarian answers “Hello, I hope I haven’t kept you waiting. Yes, this is the Crime Club. I’m the Librarian. Name of the program ? Yes, we have that Crime Club story for you. Come right over. The sound effects given by the organist sets a very creepy tone to each episode. The doorbell rings and you hear –  “Ah you’re here. Good. Take the easy chair by the window. Comfortable ? The book is on this shelf.” And the story begins to unfold !
